10 things to know about the
Boat Tour to York Factory

Tours are offered on select days from June to August each year. Seasonal dates.

You will want to bring:  binoculars, camera, light layers, jacket, snacks, shoes you don't mind getting dirty, and sunglasses. Items to bring on the overnight trip are listed here

A dinner of BBQ burgers with all the fixings and a light breakfast is included.

Life jackets are of course provided.

The site tour of York Factory National Historic Site is provided by Parks Canada staff.

It is 240 miles (~386 km) via the Nelson River from Gillam to York Factory and return.

You will view storied Port Nelson, the beached dredge and the old trestle at the mouth of the Nelson River.

Wild animals in the area include seals, polar bears, black bears, moose, caribou, eagles, wolves, foxes & more.

Duration of the boat tour down the Nelson River is typically 3-4 hours each way.
